Common Questions About Our Caribbean Yacht Charters
When it comes to organizing a Virgin Islands boat charter it is normal to have a few questions. The following list will hopefully address some common questions regarding our Caribbean yacht charters:
- What Travel Documents are Needed? – Depending on where you want to go and what country you are coming from, you may need a passport. US citizens do not need a passport for US Virgin Islands destinations. A driver’s license is a good idea too.
- What is Cell Service Like? – There is generally cell phone service on our Caribbean yacht charters, but the cost can vary depending on your provider. USVI offers standard cell service for US most customers.
- How Many People Can Fit on the Boat? – Our catamaran can sleep between 3 and 10 people. Children are allowed, but no pets please.
- What Will the Captain Do? – The captain is responsible for the sailing, safety, fuel, and the route of our Caribbean yacht charters. They determine the sailing course with guest input and make decisions based on weather and water. The captain fee is $300 per day plus meals and tip.
- What if There is an Emergency? – While this is highly unlikely, if there is an emergency onboard the Ciao For Now, you will have a service number to call to assist you right away. Nearby repair centers offer quick help when needed.
- What Should We Do if There is Bad Weather? – Good mariners always listen to the weather broadcasts on the radio. If severe weather occurs during our Caribbean yacht charters, we will recommend where to leave the boat and seek shelter.
- Is there a deposit? – Yes, however, it will be returned to you after the debriefing provided you have a fuel receipt and a damage free boat and dinghy.
- What Do I Do for Freshwater? – The Ciao For Now is equipped with a water maker.
- Is There Storage Space Onboard? – Our vessel has limited storage space, so pack about half of what you normally would and avoid hard shell suitcases, which can take up extra space to store. Keep in mind you will likely be spending most of your time in a swimsuit or lightweight, summer clothes.
- Do You Have Lifejackets? – Yes, all our Caribbean yacht charters are equipped with life jackets in adult sizes. It is advised to bring some for young children. Our boat does not include floats or rafts, so we recommend you bring your own or purchase them when provisioning on the British Virgin Islands.
